Hemolysis of Rabbit Erythrocytes by hematin

Abstract
|

|
|
Hematin was found to be a potent hemolytic agent for rabbit erythrocytes. The hemolytic effect of heznatin was prevented by rabbit plasma protein, and was also inhibited by glucose and sulfhydryl compounds (mercaptoethanol, glutathione or cysteine) added together.
